As Integrated Project Delivery moves from conventional methods to using BIM tools and workflows it brings with it a whole new vocabulary. Electronic data exchanges are used for most submissions, and prints can be published and delivered to requesting parties quickly and when necessary.

Project data is provided in the form of a model, and Level of Development concepts have been developed to simplify data transfers. Level of Development, also known as Level of Detail, explains how accurate the BIM model is.
